Sagada Tourism Office limits number of trekkers on the Marlboro Hills
The Sagada Tourism Office would limit the number of trekkers allowed on the Mountain Province's Marlboro Hills to just 800 starting on Sunday-December29, according to a report on Balitanghali Weekend.
The Tourism Office explained that 800 was the optimum number of trekkers the hills could accommodate and still remain pristine.
On Sunday, the carrying capacity for the Marlboro Hills for the sunrise viewing had been fully reserved.
“Let us not be greedy and desire to take a meter when Mother Earth has already blessed us with an inch,” said the Tourism Office.
“All tour guides and visitors with no stub will not be allowed to enter and hike up to the Marlboro Hills tomorrow (December 29). This will also serve as a warning to all. Would-be-violators, beware,” they added. — Joviland Rita/DVM, GMA News
