Tisoy washes trash ashore in Rosario, Cavite

The weather has already improved in Cavite as Severe Tropical Storm Tisoy moves west of the country but some of the province's coastal areas were left teeming with garbage in the aftermath.

According to a report by Jonathan Andal on GMA News' Unang Balita on Wednesday, water lilies, used diapers, and various discarded food packaging were found ashore in La Isla Bonita.

The local fisherfolk's boats were still berthed while a few houses near the waters were left dilapidated.

The bamboo stakes which serve as breeding grounds for mussels have also been removed from the waters before Tisoy hit. These, however, were already rendered unusable.

Over 60 families who had been evacuated were advised by local authorities to stay in the evacuation center as they are still assessing the situation in the coastal area. — Dona Magsino/RSJ, GMA News
