Barangay hall pronounced no longer safe after Bukidnon earthquake caused cracks


A barangay hall in the municipality of Maramag in Bukidnon was declared no longer safe after it was damaged by the magnitude 5.9 earthquake that struck the province in southern Philippines on Monday night.

Photos taken by GMA News reporter Victoria Tulad showed that the barangay hall in Barangay Camp 1 in Maramag sustained damage in its walls, ceilings, flooring, stairways and doors.

 

 


 

 

 


 

 


Structural engineers said the building is no longer safe.

Authorities also told residents of some houses to move out since their homes in the same barangay were also deemed unsafe.

Two hundred residents temporarily sought shelter in tents and at the basketball court. —KG, GMA News
