Romblon barangays still flooded amid preparations for Ramon
Six barangays in Odiongan, Romblon experienced flooding due to rains brought by Tropical Storm Ramon, according to a report by JP Soriano on GMA News' Balitanghali Weekend on Saturday.
Residents of Barangay Tulay and their animals were evacuated after the flooding in the area reached neck-level of people.
Meanwhile, the main problem of residents of Barangay Poctoy was the mud left behind by the flood. The barangay hall and the day care center in the area were also affected.
In Ilagan, Isabela, the bridge used by residents to leave and enter the city were also flooded.
Over 30 hectares of a banana plantation were also destroyed by strong winds in Dipaculao, Aurora, as well as vegetable patches and tree branches.
Three barangays in Dipaculao were affected.
Some towns in Aklan were also flooded.
In Paoay, Ilocos Norte, the local government focused on preparing for Ramon. They have prepared life saving gadgets and rescue equipment.
The same could be said for a coastal barangay in Badoc, Ilocos Norte, which has brought out its rescue equipment and prepared its evacuation centers.
In Currimao, Ilocos Norte, some fishermen still risked sailing despite the gale warning raised over the area. They came back after the winds proved to be too strong.
The fishermen have tied their boats in preparation.
