2 Davao City buildings ordered condemned due to quake damage

Two buildings of the Palmetto Place in Davao City were ordered for condemnation following the assessment of authorities on the damage caused by the recent series of earthquakes in Mindanao to various structures in the city.

According to Cecille Villarosa's report on Unang Balita on Monday, Mayor Sara Duterte said the buildings are not safe for habitation after sustaining cracks on walls, beams, and posts.

However, all bridges and roads in Davao City are declared safe by the Department of Public Works and Highways after an inspection by the City Engineer’s Office.

“Except lang yung Bolton Bridge na puwede naman siyang daanan. May inaayos lang sila sa baba,” the mayor said.

The inspection and assessment on the structures in the earthquake-hit city are still ongoing. The results are expected to be released on Monday or Tuesday as Mayor Sara will meet with the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) on Tuesday. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
