Air Force airlifts stranded Mindanao quake victims
Members of the Philippine Air Force on Sunday airlifted to safety residents of Makilala, Cotabato who were stranded in dangerous areas following two powerful quakes that jolted the region last week.
According to GMA News’ Raffy Tima, the Air Force rescued 16 residents from Barangay Luayon in Makilala, Cotabato who had been stranded for days without food and water.

The soldiers had to cut several trees to facilitate a safe rescue via helicopter as they only had a small strip of road surrounded by gorges on both sides to land on.
Members of the Emergency Responder Company of the Army 10th Infantry Division who located the stranded residents by foot were also airlifted back.

Residents in the area had been told to evacuate due to the danger of possible landslides.
