Accused child rapist released from jail in Cebu

A lawyer-broadcaster accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2017 is now out of jail, according to his recent Facebook posts.

Juril Patiño was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation in July this year after rape charges were filed against him by the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.

In a Facebook post on his account on Monday, Patiño can be seen dining outside with loved ones in a photo captioned “Glory to God in the highest.”

In the comments section of the post, one of Patiño’s friends asked if he is already out of jail, to which he replied “Yes.”

A Cebu Daily News report said the lawyer-broadcaster was released on bail. 

His wife Lilibeth insisted on Facebook that her husband is innocent.

“[I] believe in the innocence of Atty. Juril Broka Patiño. [I] can vouch for his good character and personality,” her post read.
