Footbridge in Baguio left standing without stairs

A footbridge in Baguio has been left to stand without stairs being constructed, leading to the annoyance of residents in the city.

According to a report by Ian Cruz on 24 Oras on Friday, the bridge has been unfinished at the lower part of Mabini Street for over a year already.

GMA is still trying to get a comment from the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH).

According to the barangay, the project was suspended because additional budget to continue construction has not been released.

They are hopeful that the budget will be released before the end of 2019. However, because of the long waiting time, residents are no longer interested.

"Sa akin hindi [na gagamitin] kasi may pedestrian naman sa baba eh," a resident said. —Joahna Lei Casilao/JST, GMA News
