Ilocos Norte town placed under a state of calamity due to flooding
A state of calamity was declared in Vintar, Ilocos Norte due to severe flooding brought by Severe Tropical Storm Ineng.
Officials approved the declaration during an emergency session on Saturday after it was reported that the town lost over 100 animals to the flood.
A collapsed bridge also left several residents in one barangay stranded.
A state of calamity declared in Laoag City had also been announced earlier by Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 1 Director Melchito Castro.
