18 hospitalized due to puffer fish poisoning in Ozamiz City

Eighteen persons found themselves in the hospital hours after eating cooked puffer fish or butete.

A report on GMA's Saksi said the victims complained of numbness, vomiting and dizziness few hours after eating a dish with puffer fish prepared by a neighbor.

A resident reportedly caught a four-kilogram puffer fish, cooked it and shared the dish with relatives and neighbors.

A sample of the dish was brought to the city health office to be examined.  —LDF/KG, GMA News
