Suspected NPA gunmen ambush Agusan del Sur police patrol

An Agusan del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company patrol was ambushed by suspected New People's Army (NPA) gunmen along the province's national highway, GMA 7 news program 24 Oras Weekend reported on Sunday.

The ambush near Prosperidad town was recorded on the police vehicle's dashboard camera.

Despite being ambushed, police officers were able to fight off the gunmen, even managing to wound several of them based on the blood trails later found at the scene.

The security forces had a single casualty: Patrolman Carmelo Estioko Jr. who was wounded in the fight.
