Heavy rains over the weekend cause landslide in Kalinga, flooding in Davao

Heavy rains over the weekend caused a landslide in Kalinga and flooding in Davao, according to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali on Monday.

Some tourists were stranded in Kalinga after a landslide occurred in the municipality of Tinglayan.

Clearing operations took longer since rocks kept falling.

Meanwhile, in Davao City, pedestrians and motorists had to take extra caution due to flooding and zero visibility as rains poured.

On Friday, a river in Maguindanao overflowed its banks, but this did not stop residents including a teacher from crossing it.

In Ormoc City, heavy rains also poured continually for an hour.

PAGASA said on Monday scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas due to Tropical Depression Falcon's trough and over Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Visayas due to the Southwest Monsoon. —KG, GMA News
