8 inmates escape Lamitan City Jail

Eight inmates have escaped in a jailbreak that took place Sunday morning at the Lamitan City Jail, authorities said.

According to officials of the city's Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility, the eight escapees bolted out at about 10 a.m.

They are identified as:

1. Muamar Gandali a.k.a. Bogs
2. Norman Bisal
3. Roderick Agang
4. Jemar Usman,
5. Arman Acalul
6. Taha Morales
7. Asbi ventura
8. Alpa Julasbi

The escapees were able run away with assorted firearms.

Authorities have set up checkpoints in strategic areas for possible interception of the fugitives, who are facing drug cases, except for Acalul who is accused of murder.
