Obando school holds classes despite flooding

Some students in Obando, Bulacan braved floods to get to school on Monday as classes were not suspended despite the conditions in the town.

According to a report by Raffy Tima on GMA 7 news program 24 Oras, planks, sandbags, and armchairs were used to create makeshift bridges that allowed students cross flooded sections of the school.

Some parents also picked their children up earlier that unusual due to the flooding.

Students ignored the flooding because they wanted to maintain their perfect school attendance record.

Fortunately, the classrooms were not submerged in floodwaters.

Local authorities explained that parents needed to make the call on whether or not they would allow  their children to attend classes in situations where safety could be an issue. — Dona Magsino/DVM, GMA News
