Portion of KCC Mall in GenSan collapses

A portion of the KCC Mall in General Santos City collapsed Thursday morning, according to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The mall management said nobody was hurt in the incident. 

In a statement posted on their Facebook page, KCC Mall of Gensan said the foam board insulation attached to the corner structure of the mall might have been weakened "due to successive earthquakes."

The post said the mall was "back at its usual operating schedule" as of 9 a.m.

"There are no casualties and rest assured that the area is now safe," it read.
