Cagayan hit by 5.2-magnitude quake
A 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit Calayan, Cagayan on Sunday afternoon, data released by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) revealed.

Tectonic in Origin, the tremor had a 20-kilometer depth of focus, and was recorded 38 kilometers north of Calayan in Cagayan at 04:59 p.m. on May 12.
The quake was felt at Intensity III in Aparri, Cagayan, and Intensity II in Laoag City in Ilocos Norte, and in Claveria, Cagayan.
The latest quake comes a day before the midterm polls scheduled on Monday, May 13.
For its part, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it is prepared to secure vote counting machines (VCMs) and ballots in the event of a strong earthquake during election day. — LA, GMA News
