FVR Megadike sustains cracks after Magnitude 6.1 earthquake

Portions of the FVR Megadike in Bacolor, Pampanga sustained cracks and long fissures after a Magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit the province and parts of Luzon on Monday.

Police put up checkpoints and blockades to prevent motorists from passing through the 5-kilometer stretch of the dike that had been damaged by the quake.

Personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways have been tapped to repair the affected parts of infrastracture which was built to address the lahar problem during the aftermath of Mt. Pinatubo explosion in 1991. —NB, GMA News
