Boracay beach house shut down for using non-accredited booking app
A beach house on Boracay Island was ordered closed down for allegedly accepting bookings using an application that was not accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT).
According to a GMA News TV News To Go report on Wednesday, the manager of the establishment said they had already complied with the order and canceled a number of reservations.
Meanwhile, vacationers who plan to spend time in the famous tourist spot may enjoy island hopping and various water activities such as banana boat riding, parasailing and helmet diving.
Earlier, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources said it is monitoring the cleanliness of top tourist destinations in the country as it expects the number of tourists to increase this Holy Week.
In a separate Balitanghali report on Wednesday by Dano Tingcungco, authorities in Malay, Aklan said the situation on the island is "generally peaceful."
Despite that, they vowed to ensure peace and order for the whole duration of Holy Week.
