Bird sanctuary burns as forest fire worsens in Bontoc

The forest fire that has been raging for several days now in Bontoc, Mountain Province has spread further, affecting a bird sanctuary, according to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali on Saturday.

Residents said they saw some animals fleeing the mountain as a result of the fire.

Firefighters had difficulty putting out the fire since there is no route to the mountain.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire. Investigation is still ongoing as of posting time. —KG, GMA News
