Water service interruption in Dasmariñas, Cavite caused by busted generator

Residents of Barangay Paliparan 3 in Dasmariñas, Cavite had to line up to collect rationed water due to a glitch of a generator of the Dasmariñas Water District.

According to a report by Susan Enriquez in GMA News TV's State of the Nation with Jessica Soho on Wednesday, customers were irked because the water supplier failed to give advance notice of the service interruption.

An official from the water district explained that the service disruption was unexpected.

"Sanay silang may advice kami. Sanay silang mayroon kaming three days advice na makapag-ipon bago mawalan ng tubig," said Crisanto Serrano, head of the Dasmariñas Water District's community relations unit.

He added that the area also faces a problem on the availability of sufficient water supply as its population continues to grow.

Barangay Paliparan 3 treasurer Ben Bedeo said he was aware of the water supply problem.

"Almost a year nang may problema kami sa tubig, 'yung mahina ang daloy. Dati daw ay konti lang 'yung residente tapos sa ngayon ay halos doble na," he said.

To address the issue, the water district has implemented a water scheduling scheme. Rationed water is provided to areas where there is no supply. — Dona Magsino/BAP, GMA News
