How does water from Angat Dam reach residential, commercial areas?
Ninety percent of the water supply in Metro Manila comes from Angat Dam in Norzagaray, Bulacan, according to a report in GMA's 24 Oras on Monday.
Understand better why the decreasing water levels in dams lead to water supply woes by watching this video.
The water from this dam is transmitted to Ipo Dam, then passes through Bigte Basin, before it proceeds to water treatment facilities.
Concessionaires will then facilitate the water distribution to their customers in residential and commercial areas.
Amid the lack of sufficient rain and the effects of the El Niño phenomenon, the water level in Angat Dam has decreased to 200 meters, just 20 meters above its critical level or 180 meters.— Dona Magsino/BAP, GMA News
