LTFRB implements 'No Standing Policy' in Cebu buses
A 'No Standing Policy' has been implemented by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in buses in Cebu City.
According to a report by Katrina Son on GMA News TV's State of the Nation with Jessica Soho on Monday, a photo of passengers lying down on the floor of a bus went viral in social media.
The photo seems to show how passengers and bus company employees can get around the new policy.
The regional office of the LTFRB clarified that only buses traveling more than 15 kilometers to other towns in Cebu province will be covered by the policy.
As for the viral photo, LTFRB said it sees no apparent violation but will make further investigation on the incident.
Drivers who will be caught ferrying passengers more than the seating capacity of the buses covered by the policy will be fined P5,000. — Dona Magsino/BAP, GMA News
