Parts of Calbayog City in Samar flooded due to Usman

Tropical Depression Usman brought heavy rains overnight over Calbayog City in Samar, causing flooding in parts of the city until Saturday.

Netizen Ethelyn Sintos took photos and a video showing that the flood level has reached waist level in the Oquendo area as of 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

As of 10:30 a.m., the floodwaters were still at waist-level.

In Barangay Tarabucan also in Calbayog City, floodwaters have even entered homes.

Netizen Amie Coquilla shared these photos and videos on Facebook showing the extent of flooding in the barangay.

As of past 8 a.m., the floodwaters have started to recede.

Usman has weakened into a low pressure area and is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday. —Peewee Bacuño/KG, GMA News
