Graves destroyed in Typhoon Rosita’s onslaught
Even the dead were not spared from the wrath of Typhoon Rosita that ravaged northern Luzon just days before All Saints' Day.
Some graves that were destroyed by fallen trees and debris in Gamu, Isabela were shown on GMA News' "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon" on Thursday.
Workers were seen trying to fix up the cemetery as throngs of people were expected to visit their departed loved ones.
Rosita's lashing winds also took down a few houses and trees in the town of Roxas. Residents were forced to evacuate as the heavy downpour also flooded some areas.
Aside from Isabela, the storm brought destruction to other provinces like Sagada, Mountain Province, where power lines were knocked down.
It also destroyed millions of pesos worth of crops in several northern Luzon areas such as Aurora and Nueva Ecija.
According to the report, the Department of Agriculture had already pegged the agricultural damage in Aurora at P42 million. — Margaret Claire Layug/MDM, GMA News
