11 fall ill in South Cotabato ammonia leak

At least 11 residents of Polomolok, South Cotabato fell ill due to an ammonia leak in the area, according to a report on Saksi.

Residents related that it was midnight when they noticed bad odor emanating from a nearby Dole Philippines plant when they decided to leave the area.

The residents experienced headaches, and stomach ache that they had to be brought to the hospital.

Initial results of an investigation showed that there was a problem with the system at th plant but repair was undertaken right away.

Dole Philippines had pledged to shoulder the hospital expenses of the affected residents. — BAP, GMA News
