Bodies retrieved from Itogon landslide now at 20

The number of bodies recovered from the landslide that struck Itogon, Benguet last Saturday has reached 20.

A tweet by Super Radyo dzBB on Wednesday said that a 20th body has been retrieved from the site that was converted into an evacuation center by small scale miners in the area.

The deadly landslide buried the bunkhouse that served as shelter for small scale miners and their families in the wake of Typhoon Ompong last weekend.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council earlier said search, rescue, and retrieval operations at the site of the landslide is likely to continue until October. — Jessica Bartolome/MDM, GMA News
