San Ildefonso, Bulacan mayor leaves post in wake of suspension

San Ildefonso, Bulacan Mayor Paula Carla Galvez-Tan left her post on Wednesday after being slapped with a suspension order from the Office of the Ombudsman.

According to Oscar Oida's report on "24 Oras," she was slapped with a nine-month suspension based on a complaint filed by Vice Mayor Luis Sarrondo and other members of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB).

It centered on the disruption of an SB session last year during which Galvez-Tan allegedly yelled at Councillor Edgardo Vergel.

Galvez-Tan was emotional on her way out of the municipal building.

Marami salamat po," Galves-Tan said. —Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
