Ardot Parojinog undergoes booking process at Camp Crame

Ozamiz City Councilor Ricardo "Ardot" Parojinog  underwent booking process at Camp Crame on Saturday, hours after he arrived in Manila from Taiwan.

Parojinog had his fingerprints taken and had a medical checkup at Camp Crame.

According to a report on Super Radyo dzBB by Jonathan Andal, Parojinog became slightly pale when he arrived at Camp Crame but was pronounced healthy despite a rise in blood pressure.

Senior Superintendent Benigno Durana Jr. said Parojinog's blood pressure was 160/80.

Parojinog, brother of slain suspected drug lord Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., is facing charges for murder, illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of explosives.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on Friday said Parojinog would be temporarily detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame pending the return of the warrants to the Ozamis City court and the issuance of a Commitment Order.

"It is incumbent upon the PNP to ensure the safety and security of Ricardo Parojinog in the best interest of justice so he can stand trial for his transgressions," Albayalde said at a news conference following Parojinog's arrival.

"His arrest describes on unequivocal terms the relentless campaign against illegal drugs and crimes that we are waging, convey the message of certainty of punishment to all those who challenge the majesty of the law," he added.

Parojinog has been repatriated from Taiwan after his deportation by immigration authorities for illegal entry using spurious documents.

He was placed under arrest as the CIDG served four warrants of arrest issued by Edmundo Pintac, Executive Judge of RTC branch 15 of Ozamis City, for murder, violation of RA 10591 or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and violation of RA 9516 or illegal possession of explosives.

The councilor went into hiding after Ozamis City policemen raided their family's homes in July last year.

Policemen had seized shabu and drug paraphernalia, a shotgun, three rocket-propelled grenade launchers, two hand grenades, and M79 ammunition from his house.

His brother Reynaldo Sr. and 14 others died in the police operation. Reynaldo Sr.'s children, Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez and Reynaldo Parojinog Jr., were arrested. —KG, GMA News
