Nonstop rains cause huge flood in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro
Continuous rains caused by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) have flooded a big part of Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.
Many residents have left their homes and sought shelter at evacuation centers.
Rescue operations for others who have not yet evacuated are still ongoing as of posting time.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said some houses were even carried away by floodwaters.

Classes on Monday have been canceled in all levels in public and private schools in Mamburao, according to Mayor Angelina F. Tria.
PAGASA said that although Tropical Depression Josie has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, scattered to widespread monsoon rains will still be felt in many parts of the country, including Mindoro. —Peewee Bacuño/KG, GMA News
