Abu Sayyaf member nabbed in Jolo


A member of the Abu Sayyaf Group was arrested on Sunday by authorities in Jolo, Sulu.

Nabbed was Suaib Hayudini also known as Enteng, said to be a member of the Abu Sayyaf Group operating in Sulu under the leadership of Radullan Sahiron who was allegedly involved in the Sipadan kidnapping in 2000.

Police Chief Superintendent Graciano Mijares, regional director of Police Regional Office - Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, confirmed that the arrest was done during a law enforcement operation on Marina Street, Barangay Walled City.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest dated October 13, 2003 for the crime of kidnapping and serious illegal detention with ransom issued by Judge Erlinda Pirera of the Regional Trial Court-National Capital Region, and kidnapping with frustrated murder issued by Judge Allen Abubakar of RTC-9th Judicial Region Branch 13 in Jolo.

The suspect was brought to the PNP Intelligence Group Headquarters in Zamboanga City via a seacraft of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force for documentation and proper disposition. —KG, GMA News
