Remains of Bohol landslide victims recovered

The remains of the men trapped in a landslide that occurred in Anda, Bohol were recovered on Wednesday.

The remains of Ariel Abac and Valeriano Galeya were retrieved by local rescuers a few hours apart.

Valeriano and Abac were at the limestone quarry site when the landslide occurred on Monday.

The personnel involved in the search and rescue operations faced much difficulty as the risk that another landslide would occur remained high.

The soil in the area remained loose after Typhoon Basyang hit the province last month. Mines and Geosciences Bureau personnel advised the rescue teams against using heavy equipment in the area. — BAP, GMA News
