CIDG uncovers factory making fake cigarettes in Guiginto, Bulacan

The central Luzon Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has uncovered a factory reportedly manufacturing counterfeit branded cigarettes.

According to a report on GMA's "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday, CIDG operatives found the factory hidden inside a warehouse in Guiginto, Bulacan.

Found in the factory were fake seals and fake tax stamps which were said to have been used to manufacture fake cigarettes of several brands.

The factory was said to have been registered by a Chinese individual who has yet to be found by the authorities.

For now, the CIDG is investigating the Chinese national's wife and some 70 factory workers. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
