WATCH: Mayon continues to spew ash covering Guinobatan, Camalig

The towns of Guinobatan and Camalig experienced ashfall on Tuesday after Mayon volcano continues to spew ash and other volcanic materials.

In Raffy Tima's report on GMA news program "24 Oras," aerial drone shots showed how structures in central Guinobatan were coated with ash.

Guinobatan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office action officer Jun Pavericio said the town was covered with at least three to four millimeters of ash.

"Kapag natuyo 'yung abo, talagang nahihirapan kami lalong nagkaroon ng zero visibilty kahit wala nang aktibidad ang bulkang Mayon. Kung minsan madulas 'yan kahit 'yung tuyo na alikabok, kapag makapal madulas 'yan kaya delikado sa mga motorista natin," he said.

Classes have been cancelled in the municipality as local officials conducted flushing activities as ash covered houses, vehicles, and the church.

In Camalig, a resident in barangay Quirangay said their house was also pelted with volcanic debris.

"Medyo may mga maliit na bato, yung akala namin para bang tinatapunan kami ng bato ng mga tao sa yero," the resident, Antonio Naga, said.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has recorded 10,000 farmers from Tabaco City, Bacacay, Malilipot, Sto. Domingo, Legazpi City, Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan, Ligao City, Polangui, and Oas. — Margaret Claire Layug/BAP, GMA News
