Davao City community hit with heavy flooding

Residents of Davao City's Jade Valley Subdivision had to be evacuated Friday night after the community was his hit with heavy flooding, GMA News TV program "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho" reported.

The waters rose several feet rapidly, forcing trapped residents to swim for it.

Davao City emergency services used all available equipment and personnel to rescue as many people as quickly as possible.

However, response teams had only a few motor boats for the effort as rubber boats could not be used in the powerful current.
