Slain Calamba teener’s ‘girlfriend’, her live-in partner submit to probe
The alleged girlfriend of 19-year-old Ronnie Molinar has submitted herself to the investigation of the Calamba police after investigators started looking into love triangle as a possible motive in his brutal killing.
According to a "24 Oras" report by Mark Zambrano, the woman went to the police station with her live-in partner at 9 p.m. on Thursday night.
Police have refused to name both persons of interest due to the ongoing investigation.
Molinar was found dead in Calamba, Laguna on Tuesday with several stab wounds to the head, neck and back.
The woman admitted she and Molinar had been seeing each other.
Witnesses also said a man had come to fetch her from Molinar's house prior to his death.
Based on the call history on the victim's cellphone, Calamba police said the girlfriend was among the last to call him the night before he was found dead.
"Nakita namin 'yung history ng calls...We were able to match na 'yung isa sa mga tumawag sa victim ay hetong alleged girlfriend niya the night before," Police Superintendent Sancho Celedio, head of Calamba police, said.
The police also working to retrieve messages that appeared to have been deleted from the victim's phone.
Since Molinar had no criminal record and was not on the drug-watch list of Calamba and Cabuyao, Molinar's family believed that the woman and her live-in partner were involved in his death.
The victim's sister, Charlie Mae Molinar alleged that the girlfriend would frequently hurt Molinar when they were together.
"Palagi daw pong binubugbog noong babae ang kapatid ko. Sabi po namin...kung dito nga po, nagagawang saktan sa ibang lugar pa po kaya?" the sister said.
"Wala naman pong ibang gagawa niyan. Wala din po kaming alam na gagawa niyan kasi wala naman po talagang kaaway 'yan," she said.
The two persons of interest were ordered by the Calamba police not to leave town during the course of the investigation.
