CCTV shows Bulacan massacre suspect inside a store before the crime
CCTV footage showed Carmelino Navarro Ibañes, the suspect behind the massacre of the Carlos family in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan at a convenience store on the night before the gruesome crime.
The footage, as seen in a report by GMA News' Cesar Apolinario on "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho," showed Ibañes fidgeting as he quizzed the cashier and nodded at something unseen in the background.
Ibañes is a suspect in the killing of Auring Dizon, her daughter Estrella Dizon, and Estrella's children Donnie, Ella, and Dexter Jr.
A convenience store worker confirmed the identity of Ibañes alias "Miling," who was seen wearing a pair of blue shorts. The worker said the suspect was pointing at several men drinking alcohol in the back of the store.
The relatives of Ibañes confirmed with GMA News on Wednesday that the blue shorts was the same pair he wore when he took a shower the night after the members of the Carlos family were murdered.
The suspect washed the same pair of shorts that are now in the possession of SOCO operatives.
Manhunt operations continue despite Ibañes' arrest because of the "sketchy" confession he made.
An anonymous source said Ibañes seemed afraid to identify his companions and that a search is still ongoing for two or three more suspects.
Apolinario reported that there are persons of interests that police are tracking down who may be hiding somewhere in Northridge Subdivision and nearby areas following Ibanez's arrest. — Rie Takumi/BAP/KVD, GMA News
