Suspected wounded Maute member nabbed in Iligan
A suspected member of the Maute group was arrested by policemen at a checkpoint in Iligan City on Friday.
A report on Balitanghali said the man, whose identity has yet to be released by the authorities, was apprehended after policemen noticed that he had a gunshot wound in the right leg.
Police said that the suspect made conflicting testimonies on how he got the gunshot wound.
Authorities suspect that the man was a member of the Maute group who was wounded in clashes in Marawi City, which the local terrorists attack last Tuesday.
Meanwhile, policemen also arrested at a checkpoint in Iligan City a fugitive who bolted from the Marawi City jail.
Fugitive Mohammad Laguindab Hadji, who is facing a carnapping case, was nabbed around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
It was not clear if Hadji escaped during the Maute group's attack in the city, which prompted President Duterte to declare martial law in Mindanao.
Hadji is now detained in Iligan City Reformatory Center. —John Ted Cordero/ALG, GMA News
