Police release artist's sketch of suspect in killing of Bulacan beauty queen


Authorities have released the artist's sketch of one of the suspects in the killing of Bulacan beauty queen Mary Christine Balagtas, a report on Balita Pilipinas said Monday.

Citing the police, the report described the suspect as having white complexion, between 5'6" or 5'7" in height, and has medium built. The suspect on the sketch was reportedly the one who delivered the flowers and chocolates to Balagtas before shooting her.

 



Investigation showed that the suspects, who are on board a motorcycle, arrived at the victim's residence in Plaridal, Bulacan and delivered flowers. After making the delivery, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot Balagtas on her left temple.

Balagtas, 23, a former Lakambini ng Bulacan winner, was brought to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The Plaridel Police said a P100,000 reward has been offered by the local government for any information that would lead to the suspects' arrest.

The report said the police is considering the wife of Balagtas' boyfriend as the mastermind of the crime.

The report saind investigation revealed that the suspect is related to the Dominguez brothers, known leaders of a carnapping syndicate.

Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation-Bulacan District Office has yet to release the artist sketch of the other suspect.

Balagtas' family also failed to appear at the NBI office, but her mother earlier said she saw the faces of the suspects after delivering the flowers.
