Bulacan beauty queen shot after receiving flowers from motorcycle-riding killers

A former local beauty queen was shot and killed after receiving a delivery of flowers from two men who were riding in tandem in Plaridel, Bulacan  on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Mary Christine Balagtas, 23. She was a winner of the Lakambini ng Bulacan pageant in 2009, a report on GMA News TV's "State of the Nation" said.

Investigation showed that the the motorcycle riders arrived at the victim's residence and delivered flowers.

After receiving the delivery, one of the riders pulled out a gun and shot the victim on the left temple.

Balagtas was brought to the Our Lady of Mercy Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police recovered an empty shell from a .45 caliber piston at the crime scene. —NB, GMA News
