Another police officer testifies in Mark Anthony Fernandez’s drug case


Another police officer has testified in court on the drug case of actor Mark Anthony Fernandez, a report on GMA News' Unang Balita aired on Thursday said.

Taking the witness stand on Wednesday was PO2 Jayson Dimaculangan, one of the arresting officers at the time of the incident in Angeles, Pampanga in October last year, the television report said.

Fernandez is facing a case on transportation of illegal drugs.

Aside from PO2 Dimaculangan, four other witnesses are expected to testify in the hearing.

Fernandez's mother, actress Alma Moreno, was also present during the hearing. Fernandez refused to comment about the case.

The court's is expected to hand down its decision April 26, the same television report said. Meanwhile, Fernandez was brought back to the Pampanga Provincial Jail after the hearing.

Fernandez was arrested at a police checkpoint in Angeles City, Pampanga in October last year, for allegedly possessing a kilo of marijuana. 

Following his arrest, he was tested positive for marijuana use but not for shabu. — Marlly Rome C. Bondoc/RSJ, GMA News
