44 slaughtered dogs found in freezer in Laguna
Forty-four dogs were found dead inside a freezer on Wednesday at a house in San Pedro, Laguna, "24 Oras" reported on Wednesday.
The house was reportedly owned by a certain Roberto Medina, who not in the area at the time of the operation.
The slaughter dogs were reportedly bound to be sold up north, the report said.
The rights group Network for Animals has been monitoring Medina for somne time.
Police Officer 3 Rommel Calanog said the San Pedro PNP were suprised upon seeing several dogs placed in a freezer.
"Naabutan namin yung ibang aso na nakalagay dun sa cage. Tapos pagbukas namin ng ref sa labas ng bahay, nakita pa namin yung mga nakalagay na aso dun sa freezer,” Calanog said.
The PNP is now looking for a suitable area to bury the dogs.
The police also found five live dogs in a cage during the operation. —NB, GMA News
