Mark Anthony Fernandez's arraignment for marijuana possession reset anew

A Pampanga court on Tuesday rescheduled the arraignment of actor Mark Anthony Fernandez for possession of illegal drugs.

Judge Meredith Malig of the Pampanga Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 58 rescheduled the arraignment to December 13.

The arraignment for Fernandez's case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act was moved after the police failed to submit to the court a reinvestigation report.

Government lawyers moved for the resetting of the arraignment, according to the actor's lawyer, Sylvia Florez.

The arraignment had been previously suspended after Fernandez's camp filed a motion for a reinvestigation of his cases.

The actor is also facing a case of civil disobedience for supposedly attempting to escape the police. The case is being heard by the Pampanga RTC Branch 1.

Fernandez was arrested by the police for possession of one kilo of marijuana in Angeles City Pampanga last October 3.

Fernandez is detained at the Pampanga Provincial Jail. —ALG, GMA News
