Benguet landslide leaves 500 motorists stranded
Some 500 motorists have been left stranded for hours due to a landslide on a section of the Baguio-Bontoc road.
A report on Unang Balita said early Wednesday that the landslide-hit road section was in Barangay Sayangan in Atok town in Benguet.
Citing local authorities, the report also said that continuous heavy rain caused the landslide that had left stranded some 500 motorists bound for Baguio City and Bontoc in the Mountain province.
Soil, rocks, and branches of toppled trees blocked the road making the road impassable.
Clearing operations, according to Public Works officials, had been hampered by thick fog shrouding the area, the report added. —LBG, GMA News
