Expect power interruptions in Cagayan — NGCP
Power interruptions may be expected in Gonzaga, Cagayan following the outage of a facility of the Cagayan Electric Cooperative Inc. (CAGELCO II) due to the onslaught of tropical storm Carina.
In its latest update, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) reported the outage of the Magapit-Sta. Ana transmission line registered at 9:55 a.m. on Sunday, July 31.
"Please note that loss of power may be caused by affected transmission facilities of NGCP or distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives," the NGCP said.
"Specific cities and municipalities affected by the power interruptions are determined by concerned distribution utilities, unless the outage affects the entire franchise area," it added.
In an earlier advisory, the NGCP announced a power interruption covering the entire Misamis Occidental area due to the outage of the Aurora-Calamba line.
"NGCP has mobilized its line crews and is currently conducting aerial and ground patrols to inspect and assess the impact of the tropical storm to its operations and facilities," it said. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VDS. GMA News
