Bodies of tourists swept away by Laguna flash flood found in different locations
Three tourists who went missing after a flash flood struck a resort in Majayjay town in Laguna last Sunday has been found in different nearby locations, according to a report by GMA News “Balitanghali” on Thursday.
A six-year-old girl, his father, and another female victim were among the casualties of the flash flood in Dalitiwan Resort, a mountainside tourist destination in Barangay Ilayang Banga.
They were identified as Bryan and Cristine Altea Alimania, residents of Cabuyao town, and Vanessa Carillo, 34, of Lopez town.
Relatives of the deceased sought for an autopsy, as well as to sanction those liable for the incident.
The resort has stopped operations to give way to an ongoing investigation.
In an earlier report, the resort owners said that they warned tourists to stay away from the river as rain poured heavily in the area.
After about 30 minutes, the rain stopped and the tourists went back near the river. However, water unexpectedly gushed from the mountain and swept away four tourists. Only one of the victims was rescued. — Bianca Rose Dabu/APG, GMA News
