Another NGCP tower bombed in Lanao del Sur
Another National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) tower was bombed Tuesday night, the sixth tower to be attacked this year, a News TV Live report said Wednesday.
The report said bombed by still unidentified suspects was Tower No. 25 of Agus 2 - Kibawe 138kV line located in Brgy. Linamon in Ramain, Lanao del Sur.
It was the second time the tower was bombed, the report said, after it was first attacked in December last year. The report said the repairs took three months.
The restoration of the tower had taken almost three months because an uncooperative claimant, the Sambitory family, refused NGCP access to conduct tower repairs.
The report also said Tuesday night's bombing occurred after another tower in the same province, the Agus 2- Baloi 138kV line, was activated.
The NGCP said restoration operations on Tower no. 25 of Agus 2 - Kibawe 138kV line will commence as soon as the area is secured.
Meanwhile, NGCP stressed that the bombings only serve to increase the burden of the public, who suffer through power service interruptions when towers are bombed. —Jessica Bartolome/KBK, GMA News
