Chemical plant in Davao to suspend operations after chlorine leak

The Davao City Health office said that a chemical plant has suspended its operations because of the reported chlorine leak earlier this week, based on a report on GMA 7's "Unang Balita" on Wednesday.

At least 39 residents were hospitalized because of fumes coming from the botched transfer of liquid chlorine inside the Jedaric Chemical Company.

Representatives of the company, meanwhile, promised to help the affected residents.

The condition of the patients, who experienced difficulty in breathing and tightness in the chest after inhaling noxious fumes, have improved according to health officials. — BAP, GMA News
