Grass fire affects GenSan airport operation

A domestic flight of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) was forced to divert on Friday morning due to a grass fire at the General Santos City Airport.

The grass fire started at around 8 a.m., forcing PAL flight 454 from Manila to divert to the Davao City airport.

The grass fire was contained at past 11 a.m.

The PAL flight was able to return and land at the airport at around 12:30 p.m.

The airport's operation has returned to normal. —ALG, GMA News
