Four roads leading to Baguio now open


Four major roads leading to Baguio City have been cleared of debris and opened to motorists, the Department of Public Works and Highways said on Wednesday.

Kennon Road, however, remains not passable.

According to the situation report of the DPWH in the Cordillera Administrative Region as of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the following roads are already open to the public.

  • Marcos Highway
  • Baguio-Bontoc Road
  • Baguio-Bauang Road
  • Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road

The DPWH said the roads are now passable after clearing operations have been conducted after the onslaught of typhoon Lando last weekend.  

Other national roads in the Cordillera region that are still closed are the following:

Abra

  • Abra-Ilocos Norte Road, Nagaparan Section, due to slides
  • Abra-Kalinga Road in Aguibo, due to slides
  • Apayao, Claveria-Calanasan Road
  • Apayao (Calanasan)-Ilocos Norte Road

Baguio City

  • Legarda Road, due to fallen electric post
  • Western Link, Balacbac, due to soil collapse & damaged riprap
  • Military Cut-off Road, due to roadslip

Benguet
 
  • Gurel-Bokod-Kabayan-Buguias Rd, one section reported previously still closed due to slides
  • Baguio-Bua- Itogon Rd Goldfield due to slides, on going clearing
  • Itogon- Dalupirip Road, Salapsap section due to slides, on going clearing
  • Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual Road, Neverland, Tadiangan due to rock slide with fallen tree
  • Payakpak, Nangalisan, Shilan-Beckel Road, Shilan, La Trinidad, City Limit-Sto. Tomas Road vs, Poblacion Tuba.
