DESPITE IMPROVED WEATHER

Flood threats remain in Pampanga, Bulacan –NDRRMC

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reiterated Tuesday its warning on possible flooding in Pampanga and Bulacan due to water coming down from the mountains.

She said as precautionary measures, residents in flood-prone areas in the two provinces should stay at evacuation centers or go to higher ground even though the weather seemed improving.

The cyclone made landfall over Aurora province early Sunday and was forecast to remain within the Philippine Area of Responsibility until October 25, Sunday.

She said the NDRRMC has earlier issued the warning to the concerned provinces through PAGASA, Project NOAH, and Department of Interior and Local Government.

“Magta-transition na from response to early recovery. So yun ang tinitignan kung ano ang initial damage dulot ng bagyong ito at nagkakaroon ng analyis kung ano ang needs ng ating mga kababayan para agarang mapunta na tayo sa recovery at rehabilitation state,” she said.  —KBK, GMA News
